What to do at Straddie

  • HIT THE BEACH Point lookout has 7 beaches three of which are patrolled by surf lifesavers so there is always a beach that is perfect no matter what the weather

  • EXPLORE THE COASTAL WALK - walk from the Headlands to Adder Rock all the way via the beaches and headlands

  • LEARN TO SURF - there are a couple of surfing schools located on the island

  • LOOK FOR WHALES (June - September) - feeling lazy? You can just sit on our deck and watch the whales as they cruise past or walk to the headland and whale watching platforms for a front row seat.

  • SPOT THE WILDLIFE - we have seen sea eagles, ospreys, brahmin kites, kookaburras, bush curlews, parrots and kangaroos all from our front deck.

  • COME TO A FESTIVAL -

    • Get your groove on at Island Vibes  26th  - 29th of October 2017

    • Catch the Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival  28th - 30th July

  • Go diving - Straddie plays home to some amazing sea life including manta rays, eagle rays, bull rays, guitar fish, wobbegong sharks, grey nurse sharks, leopard sharks, tiger sharks, dolphins, whales and turtles.

  • FISHing - fish from the beach, off the rocks or head to Amity to fish of the pier or go on a fishing charter. Didn't catch anything? Head to one of the local fish shops and make their fish your own.
